My Education and Passion for History
I have always been captivated by history, drawn to the stories and connections that weave through generations. This passion led me to pursue a bachelor’s in history from Brigham Young University (BYU), where I developed a deep appreciation for historical research and preservation. Understanding the past helps us connect with our ancestors, and I have dedicated my life to ensuring that family stories, documents, and photographs are not lost to time.
Over the past three years, I have furthered my expertise by working toward a Genealogy Certificate from the National Institute of Genealogical Studies. This specialized education has provided me with advanced techniques in tracing family histories, verifying records, and understanding the nuances of genealogical research. My knowledge extends beyond names and dates—I strive to uncover the stories that bring family history to life.
A Lifelong Dedication to Photo Preservation
In addition to genealogy, I have always been deeply interested in photos and their role in preserving memories. For most of my adult life, I have organized and safeguarded thousands of photos from all sides of my family. This endeavor has become a life pursuit, ensuring that each cherished image is properly sorted, stored, and preserved for future generations.
Over the past five years, I have immersed myself in learning about photo organization and preservation. I am a certified member of The Photo Managers, a professional organization dedicated to best practices in photo archiving and management. Through continuous education and hands-on experience, I have developed the skills to protect and digitize valuable photographs and media.
